Sheatre: healing and teaching through drama

Agit-prop Theatre (short for Agitation-Propaganda) was a movement that began in Russia after the Revolution in 1917, worked its way through much of Europe, most notably Germany, and began in the U.S. in the early thirties. Exemplified by Clifford Odets, Elmer Rice, and Langston Hughes, it is characterized by the belief that theatre can address the serious social and political ills prevalent around us.

Middle Grey brings culture to Markdale

You might be forgiven for maintaining the belief that there are some pretty big gaps in the space where culture should reside in Markdale, but it could means that you are just not looking hard enough.
For the past five years, Middle Grey Arts & Heritage has been bringing quality events to the community, largely at Annesley United Church, 82 Toronto Street South.

Step into a different world

Most of us have a memory of an early encounter with a book, a sense perhaps, that the object we just unwrapped, or found amongst the stacks at the local library, or unearthed from a dusty shelf in our grandmother’s attic, might be an invitation to a place we’ve never been, let alone knew existed.
